Ottawa police and fire services are responding to reports of a tornado touchdown in the Ottawa suburb of Barrhaven around Half Moon Bay.
According to the Ottawa Fire Services, approximately 50 houses were affected around Umbra Place in Barrhaven.

Ottawa Police are asking residents to seek shelter. The police say a family reunification centre has been established at the Minto Recreation Complex, 3500 Cambrian Road in Barrhaven.
Ottawa Police remain in Barrhaven, assessing damage and assisting residents.
Several partners are assisting, including @OttFire and @OttawaParamedic.

Environment Canada had issued a Tornado watch with the possibility of several tornadoes across eastern Ontario into the afternoon.

The city of Ottawa says only one person suffered a minor injury, and no serious injuries were reported.
