imageFor 53 years, Castle Mountain has celebrated snow! Bringing guests “closer to heaven, down to earth” – Castle is all about the guest’s experience – in a unique, not – for – profit venture, which can be felt by all aspect of their guest first atmosphere.

Based high in the mountains of Southern Alberta located just over two hours from Calgary, Castle Mountain celebrates adrenaline, adventure and challenges – offering and providing an experience of a lifetime for all visitors. One aspect that guests look forward to each year are steep lines with cloud like, light powder snow – annually dumping an average of 30 feet of bliss!

Castle Mountain prides itself in the skiing experience, rightfully so, but there are other amazing activities to be explored while on a visit. Some highlights include peaceful snowshoeing, superb fine dining, the famous cat skiing and the NEW Scenic Snowcat experience.

You now have the chance to climb aboard the powder stagecoach snow cat, whisking a max of 12 guests per trip, to Haig Ridge. Begin the adventure by chair lift late afternoon where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the mountains and the opportunity to watch some of the last boarders and skiers. Upon arrival to the top, marvel at the beauty of Westcastle Valley – a sight that simply doesn’t look the same anywhere else.

Head to the snow cat – after learning the safety procedures – and begin the ride to Haig Ridge Lookout. Stay cozy in the heated snowcat while sipping hot chocolate and nibbling on snacks while simultaneously ogling at the beauty that surrounds you. Don’t forget to snap some pictures at the brief break at the lookout, as soon you will be whisked away to Haig Lake lookout, a special Castle Mountain wonder – equally a marvel that’s beauty will stick with you for years to come.

Last – but not least – this special tour concludes on a high – dropping you off at T-Bar pub where you can put your complimentary $10.00 voucher to use!

The Scenic Snowcat Experience is unforgettable. It is the perfect way to experience the beautiful sights that are unique to Castle Mountain without needing skis or a snowboard – just some warm clothes, a camera and a sense of adventure! In fact, it should be noted that this tour is strictly sightseeing, so there will be no ski/snowboards permitted on the tour.
