Late summer to fall is a great time to go apple picking and there are many farms in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area where you can pick a variety of apples – from Crimson Crisp to Ginger Gold.

Pingle’s Farm Market brings high-quality farm-fresh food & lots of fun to the Durham Region!  Pingle’s Farm is located on 148 acres of land and hosts various pick-your-own apples, pumpkin & sunflower experiences alongside their famous corn maze and year-round farm market. 2. Archibald Orchards & Estate Winery

PYO Apples at Archibald Orchards & Estate Winery has become a tradition for many folks who visit the orchard. This is easily understandable as the place has almost 10,000 apple trees in their orchard, with many apple varieties, delicious apple-themed treats and ciders to choose from.

3. Watson Farms

Watson Farms offers the following apple varieties: Gingergold, Macintosh Gala, Honeycrisp, Empire, Mutsu (Crispin), Fuji, Cortland, Ambrosia, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious and Northern Spy. The farm also offers strawberries, peas, raspberries, beans, apples, pumpkins and Bartlett pears. They also have a corn maze on site.

3. Nature’s Bounty Farm

Soak in the beauty of your surroundings on a self-guided nature walk around the property and visit the sheep in the pasture. Challenge the young ones to race through the obstacle course and navigate the corn maze. Enjoy a picnic on the lawn and finish off with a glass of fresh cider.  Nature’s Bounty Farm has over  25 acres of apple orchards with two unique categories of apple varieties: their Classic Apples, which they describe as well-suited to their growing conditions and produce a large crop yearly. Their Premium Apples require more time and energy to grow but are prized for their unique flavours and appearance. Classic Apples include everything from Salalia to Idared, while Premium Apples only include Honeycrisp, Ambrosia and Golden Russet apples.  You can also trek out into the pumpkin patch and pick your perfect pumpkin.

Organics Family Farm is a health-conscious farm that has been offering fresh and organic apples, ready-picked vegetables, a healthy organic farm market & wood-fired bakery for you to enjoy since 2001.   In the 2025 season, the family farm will be offering a wide variety of apples, including Empire, Spencer, Honey Gold, Crimson Crisp and delicious Ginger Gold apples.

Applewood Farm is a family-owned business that allows you to pick your own apples and drink from their amazing winery in Stouffville. The farm is a great and welcoming destination for the whole family, and you can come and spend a while under the applewood tree.

Deemed by Chatelaine Magazine and the Food Network as one of the top four apple orchards in Canada, apple picking at Albion Orchard is an amazing way for families to spend time together and buying fruit right off the farm ensures your family gets some of the freshest produce in Ontario.
