Brawley Woods Haunted Halloween Walk in Whitby, Ontario, opens October 9 for the 2026 season, with nighttime scares on four weekends through November 1.
The attraction takes visitors into an actual wooded forest rather than an indoor maze, with new experiences joining the main haunted walk this year.
What will visitors experience inside the haunted forest?
The main attraction is a roughly 30-minute walk along a dark forest trail featuring 24 staged horror scenes.
- Live scare actors: Around 40 performers inside the attraction, with additional actors outside, create surprise encounters along the route.
- Movie-style horror scenes: Elaborate sets, props and animatronics, including figures reaching 13 feet tall, bring the scares beyond traditional Halloween decorations.
- Sensory scares: Loud noises, sudden movements, fog, strobe lighting and dark or enclosed spaces contribute to the experience.
- Chicken lanes: Exit routes offer an option for visitors who find the scares too intense. Staff can also help guests leave safely.
What’s new at Brawley Woods in 2026?
Two additional experiences are advertised alongside the signature forest walk.
- The Ruins Intense Maze: A separate maze attraction for visitors wanting to extend their Halloween outing.
- Hell Ride & Maze: New for 2026, this adds another horror experience to the lineup.
Each costs $20 individually, while a $60 combination ticket covers all three attractions on the same night. A $100 VIP fast-pass combination is also available.
Is Brawley Woods suitable for children?
This is aimed at people who enjoy intense horror, making it more suitable for thrill-seeking teens, adults and groups of friends than families with young children.
Organizers do not recommend the experience for children under 12 due to intense scare scenes. Younger visitors must be accompanied by an adult, and children’s tickets cost the same as adults’.

What should visitors know before going?
Wear closed-toe shoes or boots with good grip. The trail has uneven ground, and visitors should dress for October weather.
The operator warns that queues can be lengthy, so allow considerably more than the advertised 30-minute walking time.
A food truck serves visitors, although menu prices are not published. Outside food and drinks are prohibited.
The forest walk is not wheelchair or mobility-scooter accessible and is unsuitable for some visitors with mobility limitations or sensitivities to lighting and fog effects.
Is it worth travelling from Toronto?
For horror enthusiasts seeking a more physically immersive experience than a conventional indoor haunted house, Brawley Woods offers a distinctive outing.
The organizers estimate a 45-minute drive from downtown Toronto. Free parking is available, but lots may fill on busy late-October weekends.
