Zip Zag Zip: Take a Thrilling Trip Across Saint John River Gorge and Waterfall

If you live in Northern New Brunswick or are planning a trip there, then high on your itinerary list has to be Zip Zag Zip Lining, located in Grand Falls.

Zip Zag Zip Line

Zig-Zag Zip lining is the perfect getaway for the whole family, a thrilling adventure unparalleled in the north of the province.  If you’re entering the province from Quebec, you’ll have to drive hours before you find a similar adventure.  It’s fun, fast-paced action, and fit for the whole family.

When ziplining, you’ll not just be going once across the Saint John River gorge – you’ll be going twice but from different locations.

The first crossing will take you from north to south, crossing the gorge. After a short walk, you’ll be crossing the gorge one more time, this time taking a route made famous by Van Joseph Morrell, the first man to cross the gorge! He did so via a tightrope in 1904 – while you certainly won’t be tightrope-walking, you’ll experience much the same thrill he did – though hopefully with slightly less terror!

The folks at Zip Zag are incredibly stringent about safety. They say they’ve over-engineered every part of their course, from the platforms to the cables themselves. The cables at Zip-Zag can comfortably hold up to 5,600lbs. The platforms and cables are inspected daily and by a third-party safety inspector once per month.

Zip Zag  Zip Line – Trip Planning

The great thing about Zip-Zag is that it’s open to almost the whole family! So long as you weigh a minimum of 50lbs and aren’t any heavier than 250lbs, you can cross the Saint John River by zipline! Provided that you sign a waiver form acknowledging the potential dangers of crossing the gorge.
