Cape Enrage is a jewel of New Brunswick, one of the highlights of any tour of the province.
The Cape offers some of the most stunning natural beauty in New Brunswick and is the perfect place to go for a family day out if you’re a local.
And if you’re planning a trip from away, put Cape Enrage on your list of things to do! Here are five reasons why you should choose Cape Enrage for your next family outing or your New Brunswick holiday destination.
The Cape Enrage Zipline
A highly sought-after attraction at Cape Enrage is the Cape Enrage Zipline. Here, you can zoom down to Bay of Fundy on the 183-metre (600ft) long zip line. If you’re looking for a thrill this summer and want to be surrounded by natural beauty, be sure to visit Cape Enrage and try out the zipline!
The crew that runs the Zipline also offers rappelling down the cliffs at Cape Enrage (at low tide). If you’re not keen on zipping from one post to another, maybe a jaunt down the cliffs is more your style. Either way, you have options at Cape Enrage to tailor an enthralling adventure to what suits you.
If you are interested in trying out both experiences, you can even try the zipline/rappelling combo.
The Scenery
One of the many reasons people flock to the New Brunswick coastline – seemingly no matter where you look along the Fundy Coast, you get tourists galore – is because of the scenery. Rocky outcrops line the coastline, lighthouses sprinkled intermittently like stardust lighting up the night. Cape Enrage’s high cliffs offer a spectacular view of the ocean and shoreline, complete with a boardwalk and a functioning lighthouse.
Cape House Restaurant
For the foodies out there, Cape House Restaurant provides all of your needs. With a great many local suppliers, you get a taste of what the area has to offer as well. Start with a salad or a side of chilli, complete with bread. Main courses run from calamari and croquettes to chicken wings and mussels. Sandwiches are also offered, as are other main courses like fish and chips, poutine and seafood chowder.
No matter your taste buds, the fine dining at Cape House will have something for you.
Explore The Beaches of the Area
If you’re more of a landlubber and not-so-great at heights or sharp descents, there’s nothing stopping you from exploring the beaches of Cape Enrage.
There’s a new offering this year of a guided fossil tour of the area with local fossil experts, learning about the geological history of Cape Enrage. Half a dozen shipwrecks also occurred in the Chignecto Bay, just off Cape Enrage – you’ll learn about these too, including the famous May Flower shipwreck.
A Visit to the Gallery
If you’re an artsy-type person, then the Cape Enrage Gallery probably has something that you’ll like. Featuring a dozen or so local artists with a variety of artwork spread across all types of mediums, you’re sure to find something that catches your eye. Whether it’s breathtaking photography or paintings. There are also local sweets in a variety of maple products and jams. Packaged dulse – a Fundy delicacy – is also available for purchase.
