Visit Sylvan Lake

The town of Sylvan Lake was founded in the year 1913 and this annual town festival celebrates Sylvan Lake’s history, modern culture, food, and local businesses.

There are three days of fun, so here’s what you can expect from 1913 Days at the Lake.

Around Sylvan Lake are several options for ways to stay including tent and RV camping, or vacation rentals from Air BnB or VRBO.com.

What to Expect at 1913 Days – 2022

Dining opportunities

Each Thursday in Sylvan is Food Truck Thursday, so the event begins with this and therefore plenty of street food options. Saturday will host a pancake breakfast at the fire hall, and an afternoon barbecue at the Lions Hall. Beyond these, you are surrounded by several other local dining spots from casual to formal and classy.

Shopping

You can catch the festival’s sidewalk sale for all of 1913 Days and all around town. Local businesses are encouraged to place sale products out on the sidewalks so you can enjoy open-air shopping for the weekend. You can also check out their other outdoor markets for the festival which highlight local artisans and produces: the Farmers’ Markets sets up on the Friday, and the Meet the Makers Market on the Saturday.

Dancing & Parties

There are three major parties you can attend through 1913 Days, all of which have their own twist: the Yard Party on June 10th is all 90s, while the Roller Disco on June 11th can blast you further into the past by about 20-years. The Sylvan Lake Senior’s Centre is also hosting a Varsity Dance on the Friday.

Outdoor fun

There are some other ways in which you can entertain and enjoy Sylvan Lake with 1913 days, all of which are free! You can register for the Mystery Scavenger Hunt, attend their Movie in the Park (Back to the Future 1 & 2), or relax on a horse-drawn wagon ride.

Saturday afternoon will see the parade floating down the streets, and you can admire the classics at the Show and Shine on Sunday.

The festival runs from Friday, June 10th until Sunday, June 12, 2022.
