2022 Best Countries Report: Canada is the 3rd Best Country in the World

Canada is the 3rd best country in the world according to the 2022 Best Countries Report.

It was the best country in 2021. 

Switzerland and Germany took 1st and 2nd spot respectively.

The U.S. is in the 4th position. Sweden,  Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, France and Denmark complete the top 10 list.

2022 Best Countries Report is a ranking and analysis project by U.S. News & World Report, BAV Group, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is based on how global perceptions define 85 countries in terms of a number of qualitative characteristics, and specific attributes, ranging from “dynamic” and “a leader” to “cares about human rights” and “committed to social justice.”

A total of 17,991 individuals from 36 countries in regions spanning the globe – the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East – were surveyed and ranked each country on 73 attributes.

Canada is the third best country in terms of Agility (adaptable to change), and Quality of Life. It also came in the top 10 for Social Purpose, Entrepreneurship, Open For Business, Raising Kids, Women, Racial Equality, Gender Equality, Social Purpose, Education, and Comfortable Retirement among others.

In 2020, Canada was ranked the second-best country.

Recently, Economist Intelligence Unit ranked Calgary as the third most livable city in the world.
