2021 Best Countries Report: Canada is the Best in the World

Canada is the No.1 country in the world according to the 2021 Best Countries Report.

Japan and Germany took 2nd and 3rd spot respectively, while Switzerland, No. 1 overall country in 2021, took the 4th position. Australia remains as the No. 5 overall country followed by the United States is in the 6th position.

2021 Best Countries Report is a ranking and analysis project by U.S. News & World Report, BAV Group, and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is based on how global perceptions define 78 countries in terms of a number of qualitative characteristics, impressions that have the potential to drive trade, travel and investment and directly affect national economies.

The 2021 Best Countries rankings surveyed a total of 17,326 individuals from 36 countries in four regions – the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East & Africa – were surveyed to rank 78 countries are ranked on the world stage.

Canada also took the top spot in quality of life and social purpose. It is also perceived as having a good job market, caring about human rights and is committed to social justice and is the top country in being viewed as not corrupt and respecting property rights.

In 2020, Canada was ranked the second-best country.

      Obviously all other countries have worse issues with drug abuse/fentanyl deaths; murders; convictions from solved cases; house prices; record on indigenous and minority rights; addressing the Covid-19 pandemic; political honesty (e.g. the WE scandal); behaving like a single nation rather than separate provinces/territories; must I go on? Yours, a Canadian citizen.
