Hold onto your hats and loosen those belts, folks, because the Calgary Stampede is back with more than 50 new culinary creations to try.

Kool-Aid Chicken Burger/Calgary Stampede

From sweet to salty to downright daring, this year’s menu has something for everyone. Feeling adventurous? How about the Ketchup and Mustard Ice Cream or the Peanut Butter Pickle Dog?

Want something a little more traditional? The Elkeroni Pizza is sure to hit the spot with sustainably raised elk pepperoni and organic arugula.

But the food frenzy doesn’t stop there. Don’t miss out on the Habanero Cherry Ice Cream Taco, a spicy and sweet gluten-free treat that is perfect for summer. And if you’re feeling nostalgic, the classic mini donuts, corn dogs, and freshly squeezed lemonade are still available.

 

Here is the list of all the new midway foods available this year at Calgary Stampede:

NEW TWISTS ON OLD FAVOURITES

Ketchup and Mustard Ice Cream/Calgary Stampede

  • Elkeroni Pizza – Elk pepperoni, crushed tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, arugula, mushrooms.
  • Kool-Aid Chicken Burger – Chicken patty with sweet cherry red glaze.
  • Deep Fried Dad’s – Dad’s cookie deep-fried with cinnamon sugar.
  • Dunkaroos Mini Donuts – Vanilla mini donuts with rainbow chip frosting.
  • Poutine Colossal Onion – Onion with curd cheese and hot poutine gravy.
  • Sour Apple Caramel Cookie – Graham cracker cookie with caramel and apple frosting.
  • Mixed/Dirty Sodas – Coca-Cola mixed with fruity syrups and cream.
  • Ribeye Wagyu Steak on a Bun – Alberta-raised Wagyu ribeye on a bun.
  • Fruit Loop Funnel Cake – Funnel cake with fruit loops and whipped cream.
  • Cherry Cheesecake Mini Donuts – Mini donuts with cherry filling and cream cheese glaze.
  • Ketchup and Mustard Ice Cream – Ice cream infused with ketchup and mustard.
  • Deep Fried Banana Balls – Fried banana with chocolate drizzle.
  • Turtle Sundae & Donuts – Vanilla soft-serve on donuts with caramel and pecans.
  • Strawberry Sundae – Vanilla soft-serve on cake donuts with strawberry syrup.
  • Extreme Zeus Poutine – Fries with lamb, cheese, onions, lettuce, and tzatziki.

  • Sweet Cream Cheese Cookie Dough Crepe: French-inspired, filled with cookie dough and cream cheese.
  • The Golden Dragon Ice Pop: Dragon fruit and coconut jellies covered in 24k gold.
  • Cocktail Empanadas: Chilean pastries with seasoned beef or cheese and bacon.
  • What-A-Mango: Mango ice cream served between watermelon wedges with tajin.
  • Tiramisu Pineapple: Homemade Tiramisu soft serve in a pineapple, garnished with coffee.
  • Super Seafood Michelada: Mexican cocktail with shrimp, octopus, squid, fruit, soda, Clamato.
  • Tatto: Warm sweet treat from the Philippines with silken tofu and sago pearls.

Mexican Corn Ribs/Calgary Stampede

  • Falafel Perogies: Bite-sized perogies topped with crispy falafel and veggies.
  • Pickle Fries: Pickled French fries with dill-ranch sauce.
  • Mexican Corn Ribs: Elote-style corn ribz with cotija cheese and Tajín.
  • Vada Pav: Mumbai’s favorite veg burger with potato, mustard, and cilantro.
  • Godzilla Fries: House-seasoned fries with nori, teriyaki, and Japanese mayo.

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS

 
  • Street Corn Lemonade: Lemonade with spicy Tajin, corn juice, lime, salt, chives.
  • Mango Coconut Lucky Ducky Buckies: Lemonade with mango and coconut jellies, 50 different ducks.
  • Mini Donut Boba Lemonade: Lemonade with mini donut milk, honey popping boba.
  • Spicy Pickle Lemonade: Pickle lemonade with fresh Jalapenos, spicy kick.
  • Frosty Pink Lemonade Ice Cream: Sweet ice cream with pink strawberry lemonade.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of syrup, with thousands of volunteers making millions of pancakes over the past century to honor heritage and build community.

Stampede guests consume over 2 million mini donuts each year. 2018 marked the 50th anniversary of the mini donut at the Stampede. During the 2017 event, at least 3,475 liters of Ketchup and 1,571 liters of Mustard were consumed. Every year, the Stampede’s food selection gets more creative, with past highlights including mac n’ cheese soft serve, pickle lemonade, and cricket grilled cheese sandwich.
