Events Description

The Calgary Stampede celebrates the people, the animals, the land, the traditions and the values that make up the unique spirit of the west. The Calgary Stampede contributes to the quality of life in Calgary and southern Alberta through the world-renowned 10-day Stampede, year-round facilities, western events and several youth and agriculture programs.



Each year the Parade showcases more than 150 western-themed entries, including 30 marching bands, 40 floats, 750 horses and 4,000 people. It’s not just a Parade marching down an avenue; it’s a march through tradition, history and local Calgary culture.

Evening Show:GMC Rangeland Derby & Bell Grandstand Show

GMC Rangeland Derby: Witness all the heart-stopping action over nine nightly heats as 36 drivers, supported by their outriders and 216 horses vie for over $1.15 million in total prize money. Races start nightly at 7:45 p.m.

“Trailblazer” – 2019 Bell Grandstand Show:

This year’s show takes inspiration from the travelling shows of the early 20th century, recreating the excitement and wild spectacle of the era and hurtling it into the 21st century on the most technologically advanced outdoor stage in the world. Trailblazer will take audiences on a one of a kind adventure led by our show master Onalea, all culminating in our world-famous fireworks leaving audiences breathless. With Bell Canada as the new title sponsor of the Bell Grandstand Show, the audience will see a more interactive program allowing them to participate in the pre-show while using their smartphones to enhance their entire experience. Stampede has wired the grandstand with complimentary Wi-Fi and Bell is working closely with the Stampede team to increase accessibility of the show to the Calgary community.

Bulls After Dark:

With hot music, cold drinks and adrenaline-fueled entertainment all under one roof, Bulls After Dark transforms the Nutrien Western Event Centre into the city’s premier nightspot on the final weekend of Stampede 2019.

Stampede Shows:

High-energy entertainment shows that run daily, and are free with your Park admission – BELL Adrenaline Ranch – Motorcross entertainment, Stampede Showband, Canadian Cowgirls Rodeo Drill Team, Heavy Horse Show, Indian Village Pow Wow, Cowboy Up Challenge, and more! – Free with Stampede Admission.

From July 4 –9, Light Balance from America’s Got Talent will be performing fantastic dance and acrobatic choreography, in combination with hi-tech neon and LED light technology. From July 10 – 14, the Dundu Giants of Light from World’s Best will showcase their giant puppets of light and the out-of-this-world magic that they bring.

The Dog Bowl, presented by Eukanuba, will return yet again to showcase a number of spectacular dogs, all of which are rescues, and their incredible talent! Expect to see these lovable canines complete tricky obstacle courses, freestyle dance and run an amazing action-packed show that will have guests coming back for more. It’s a dog show like no other that will pull at your heartstrings!

60 feet in the air, balancing precariously on a high-wire, Nik Wallenda and his family will climb a swaying metal pole and perform acrobatics high above the Stampede Skyline. For their grand finale, get ready to be awed as the Wallendas ride a motorbike up the high-wire while performing acrobatics.

With new and innovative foods on the Midway menu, foodies everywhere will want to loosen their belt buckles before clearing their plates at The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.


Kid sized rides to high excitement rides to satisfy any adrenaline aficionado!

Shopping & Maker Market:

Calgary Stampede souvenirs, unique local crafts, home decor and more! The Maker Market is the newest addition to BMO Centre, Hall A and is a place where Stampede guests can purchase unique, hand-made goods from approximately 60 Western Canadian small businesses, with the majority from Alberta-based companies. The vendors will be selling uniquely designed glass jewellery, hand-made ceramics, hand-knit items, children’s clothes and books, pet supplies, leather goods, art and more.

Sneak-a-Peek – on Thursday, July 4, admission is $9 and free for kids six and under from 5 p.m.—midnight! Check out the park a day ahead before the parade officially kicks off The Calgary Stampede!

Parade Day – following the highly anticipated Stampede Parade on Friday, July 5, guests can head on down to Stampede Park for free admission between 11 a.m.—1:30 p.m.!

Cenovus Family Day – on Sunday, July 7, get free admission between 7:30 a.m.—11 a.m. and includes a free pancake breakfast for families coming to visit! Head over to the Grandstand Tarmac to get your free breakfast, as well as catch the Agriculture Show on the Grandstand Stage.

McDonalds Community Day – on Tuesday, July 9, general admission is only $2 between 10 a.m.—2 p.m. and guests 65+ get in free all day! Don’t miss the Grey Cup rally to fuel your community spirit from noon—2 p.m. at the Grandstand Courtyard.

BMO Kid’s Day – on Wednesday, July 10, kids 12 and under are free between 7 a.m.—9 a.m. as well as accompanying adults. There will also be a free pancake breakfast in the Grandstand Courtyard from 8 a.m.—9:30 a.m. with a variety show on the Grandstand Stage at 8 a.m.—10 a.m.! After 9 a.m., general admission is only $2 for kids 12 and under.
