Experience the magic of the season at the annual Merry & Bright Holiday Light Festival hosted by Memorial University Botanical Garden.

The annual festival is returning on November 30th, and you can immerse yourself in a wonderland of twinkling lights, holiday melodies, and festive treats.

As you wander, immerse yourself in the festive spirit with holiday music, and don’t forget to savour hot chocolate and tasty snacks. For those looking to warm up, gather around a cozy bonfire. Plus, Garden Gifts at the Field Centre will be open, featuring seasonal specials for last-minute holiday shopping.

 

The festival is not just about lights and treats; community choirs will serenade you with beautiful music, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Tickets for this enchanting event can be purchased in timed blocks from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Prices range from $6.00 for children aged 3-11 to $18.00 for adults aged 19-59, offering discounts for seniors and youth. Children 2 and under enjoy free admission. Additionally, tickets for certain days in December can be availed for discounted rates. Tickets will be sold online starting Monday, November 24, at 12:00 noon.

Do keep in mind that garden admission passes, season passes, and Friends of the Garden memberships will not be accepted for this annual fundraising event.

Due to limited parking at the Garden, visitors are encouraged to park at the Marine Institute and take advantage of the free shuttle service, ensuring a hassle-free experience.

Trip Planning — MUN Botanical Garden Merry & Bright Festival

This enchanting event invites you to stroll through the beautifully illuminated gardens adorned with thousands of twinkling lights, creating a magical atmosphere that will transport you into a winter wonderland.

When: November 30 – December 22, 2025

Tickets will be offered in three time blocks: 5:00-6:00, 5:30-6:30, 6:00-7:00, 6:30-7:30, 7:00-8:00pm.

How much: $18.00 – Adult (19-59)
$13.00 – Senior (60+)
$10.00 – Youth – Ages 12-18
$6.00 – Child – Ages 3-11
Children 2 and under are free (no ticket required)
All ticket prices are +HST

Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Where: MUN Botanical Garden, 306 Mount Scio Road, St. John’s

There is limited parking at the Garden; use free shuttle from the Marine Institute. Continuous shuttle service during the event. Limited blue zone and extra parking at 297 Mount Scio Rd.
