Two decorated trains will make the festive journey, travelling through the U.S. and Canada to bring holiday cheer to many communities along the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway’s network.

The U.S. Holiday Train will begin its 2026 journey on November 19 in Montreal West, Quebec, before visiting Beaconsfield and communities across southern Ontario. It will then travel through the United States, with stops in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and several other states. The train will return to Canada on December 20, concluding its tour with performances in North Portal, Estevan and Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

The Canadian Holiday Train will begin its journey on November 21 in Jackman, Maine, before arriving in Quebec on November 23 for performances in Lac-Mégantic, Sherbrooke and Farnham. From there, it will travel through Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta before heading west into British Columbia. The tour will conclude on December 20 in Port Coquitlam, following a performance in Port Moody.

What to Expect

A typical Holiday Train event features the illuminated train arriving, stopping in front of the crowd, and lowering its stage door for a band performance. There’s a brief presentation with local food bank officials, followed by the band playing holiday and original songs. After the final song, the train moves on to the next stop.

The trains are beautifully adorned with LED lights and holiday decorations. Each train is approximately 1,000 feet long. The train lights remain lit even during daytime performances.

The 2026 CPKC Holiday Train lineup for Ontario includes MAGIC!, MARIS, American Authors and Tyler Shaw, who will perform free concerts along the southern and northern Ontario routes.

Remember to take donations for your local food bank, as the Holiday Train program was launched in 1999 to support them.

It has since raised over $26 million and over 5.4 million pounds of food for community food banks across North America.

The Holiday Trains do not offer public rides.
