Summer camps in Calgary cover a huge array of interests. When it comes to sports and recreation, there is a summer camp in the city for almost any and all sports, including multi-sports camps. These camps also cover activities like nature education, wilderness skills, or wilderness and nature activities.
Beyond the active side of the camps, Calgary kids can also enjoy summer camp focused on arts, including both digital, traditional, or performing arts, or a week of camp centred on STEM, coding, or the trades.

City of Calgary
The City of Calgary summer day camps will cover a wide variety of interests and activities for summer 2024. These camps are organized among age groups between 6-14 years old, and cover art, sailing, gymnastics, rock climbing, multi-sports, and outdoor or wilderness skills.

YMCA of Calgary
Calgary’s YMCA branch offer kids two different overnight camps to choose from, as well as several different options for day camps and themes. The day camps focus on activities like skating, swimming, visual arts, climbing, dance, basketball, soccer, and more. For one of the overnight options, campers stay in Calgary, while the other will take kids on a trip to Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park, an hour west of Calgary.

Pedalheads Summer Bike Camps
The Calgary Pedalheads day camps are filling up quickly. These kids’ summer bike camps take place at various locations around the city for various age groups. Kids as young as toddler age can spend the day doing their best to learn how to ride for the first time. Other programs include basic city riding, and trail biking.

Fitset Ninja
The Calgary Fitset Ninja Summer Camps will be available from both of the city’s Fitset locations. The Ninja summer camps get kids on the workout equipment, while supervised, and teach them how to use things like climbing walls or monkey bars. TELUS Spark Science Centre
The Summer Science Camps are now scheduled for Calgary’s Spark Science Centre and are open to kids ages 5-12 years old. All you and your kids need to do now is choose a part of science to explore through camp: space, bugs, coding, dinosaurs, engineering, or animals! The camps are organized for groups of ages 5-6, 7-8, 8-10, or 9-12.

WinSport are now offering registration for their summer camps, which could also be called adventure camps! The Winsport Summer Day Camp programs include mountain biking, archery, basketball, hockey, outdoor and wilderness skills, golf, rock climbing, ringette, or multi-sport. Fort Calgary’s Summer Camps are open for registration and include artistic camps, as well as outdoor and wilderness learning camps. The Fort’s camps are suited to ages 6-11 with smaller groups also made up for certain camps. Kids can pick between the Fort’s Bison & the Bow, Artists on the Land, Creatures of the Confluence, Art of Drama, Eagles & Earthworms, or Curators of Creativity.

Heritage Park
There are two-day camps to choose from at Calgary’s Heritage Park this summer, as well as one overnight camp! The Home on the Range overnight camp is for age 12-15 and gives teens a unique opportunity for dancing to a live fiddle, exploring the park after dark, meeting with the animals, sleeping in an authentic bunkhouse, and relaxing around an open fire. The day camps also provide authentically historic opportunities like using the old schoolhouse or riding the steam train.

There is a huge array of summer day camps offered from the U of C centred on active living for kids. These will cover several sports like gymnastics, swimming and aquatics, and outdoor education. Have your kids enjoying some time away from the city this year on their day camp outings with Butterfield Acres. The fun farm, located on the far northwest side of Calgary, provides the perfect escape without being too far from home, and will give kids a chance at interactive and hands-on farm and farm animal experiences. Parents also have the option to add snack packages to the kids’ experiences. These camps are open to kids aged 4-14 years old.

These Humane Society kids’ camps cover topics like critters, everything-animal, felines, wild animals, canines, vet care, and general animal care.
