The Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival Presents Free Concerts And Entertainment This February.Taking place on the historic Rideau Canal Skateway, the 3rd Annual Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival returns on February 8th to 9th with thrilling action and free entertainment. This year, the festival is also holding 2019 IIDBF World Club Crew Ice Dragon Boat Championships.
Here are 5 ways experience and enjoy the heartstopping action on the frozen surface of the World’s Largest Skating Rink.
- Cheer for your favourite team as they propel the boats equipped with skate-like blades along the 200-meter race course using spiked ice-picks. 125 teams will be competing for the prestigious Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival Championships and the top teams from the Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival’s qualifying rounds will advance to the IIDBF World Club Crew Ice Dragon Boat Championships.
- Enjoy free concerts from Bedouin Soundclash (8th) and Dear Rouge (9th) inside Dows Lake Pavilion. They will be headlining a fantastic lineup of free concerts, featuring some of Ottawa’s best talent including favourites Jacquie Neville (8th) and Jeremy Fisher (9th).
- Not enough entertainment? The festival’s Vista View Stage will feature even more of Ottawa’s best artists with performances from Silent Winters, Trails, Welcome The Ghost, Old Man Grant and Mosely. Keeping the pavilion atmosphere festive will be house DJ’s, DJ Sweetpea (8th) and DJ Benjammin (9th). All free of charge!
- Immerse yourselves in cultural experiences from traditional Chinese lion dancers to First Nations dancers, drummers and Ottawa fire dancing artists.
