Fantastic Four Comic Books Worth $50,000 Stolen in Calgary

Calgary Police is asking the Public’s help in finding three rare comic books, worth approximately $50,000 which were stolen as part of a targeted robbery at Alpha Comics, located at 7005 18 Street S.E., Calgary

 
The missing comic books are described as:

Fantastic Four #1 with a CGC number of 2074628001 and grade of 6.5

Fantastic Four #2 with a CGC number of 2041541001 and grade of 5.5

Fantastic Four #13 with a CGC number of 204154003 and grade of 4.5

Calgary Police said that two men grabbed a man leaving Alpha Comics at approximately 8 p.m., on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 with the comic books in a briefcase. The victim was thrown to the ground and received minor injuries.The men ran to a nearby vehicle, but then fled the scene on foot when they realized the victim was still watching them. CPS secured the vehicle and arrested the owner who later returned to the scene. The second suspect has not been identified and the comic books have not been recovered.

Twenty-year-old Rifahie Al-Rifahie from Calgary is charged with one count of robbery in connection with this incident.

Calgary Police is asking anyone with any information on this incident including the identity of the second suspect or the location of the comic books to contact CPS by calling 403-266-1234. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
