Over the weekend, Air Canada reached a tentative four-year agreement with the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), which represents over 5,200 pilots from both Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge. Details of the agreement remain confidential pending approval by the pilots through a ratification vote and the Air Canada Board of Directors.
In response to the resolution of anticipated labour disruptions and to show appreciation for its customers’ flexibility during uncertain times, Air Canada has launched a promotional offer.

The airline is providing a 25% discount on new bookings and an additional bonus of 2,500 Aeroplan points. This offer applies to selected fare categories and is available until 11:59 PM on September 18, 2024. The eligible travel period for this offer is from September 28, 2024, to May 31, 2025, though there are blackout dates during peak travel seasons, including December 16-23, December 27, 2024 – January 5, 2025, February 13-18, March 7-9 and March 14-16, 2025.
Per the news release, Air Canada is also distributing various tokens of appreciation, such as lounge vouchers and snacks at select airports across Canada, enhancing the travel experience for its passengers.
For customers who had previously altered their travel plans due to the expected labor disruptions, Air Canada is allowing changes back to their original flights without any additional costs, provided there is availability. This applies to flights initially scheduled between September 15 and September 23, 2024, and rescheduled before November 30, 2024.
This promotional offer is applicable to Air Canada flights, including those operated under the Air Canada Express and Air Canada Rouge banners, and select codeshare flights with partners such as Lufthansa and Swiss Air Lines. However, the discount does not cover taxes, fees, surcharges, or other additional charges. The offer is exclusively available to Aeroplan members and cannot be combined with any other discounts or promotions.
