The 2025 World Whiskies Awards recently concluded in London, England, and several Canadian companies won awards for their exceptional whiskies.

GrainHenge Arrowwood Whisky by Troubled Monk, located in Red Deer, Alberta, was awarded the World’s Best Rye.
Crafted by Head Distiller Garret Haynes and the team at Troubled Monk, Arrowwood is a 39-month-old whisky made with 61% flaked rye and 39% rye malt, aged in #4 char new American white oak. Per the news release, it starts off with bold herbal spice and moves into smooth notes of caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon, finishing with a dry, lingering warmth.
Several Canadian distillers also received top honours at the 2025 World Whiskies Awards. Collingwood Double Barreled was named World’s Best Canadian Blended. Bearface Elementally Aged Triple Oak, bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company, won Best Canadian Corn. Anohka’s “This is Not Whisky” took Best Canadian New Make & Young Spirit. Macaloney’s earned three awards: Best Canadian Pot Still, Best Canadian Single Cask Single Malt, and Best Canadian Small Batch Single Malt. Glen Breton Rare 21 Years Old was awarded Best Canadian Single Malt.
