You Can Now Download Alberta COVID-19 Vaccine Records With QR Codes

Albertans can now download their COVID-19 vaccine records that has a scannable QR code from the Alberta vaccine records website.

Though the QR code records are available on the website, the province has not yet released an application for businesses or event organizers to scan and verify vaccine records. (Update October 12: App to Verify Alberta COVID-19 Vaccine QR Code is Now Available For Download)

The application will be called AB COVID Records Verifier app.

The website states, “Alberta’s official app to scan COVID Record QR codes will be available soon. The QR code cannot be scanned until the AB COVID Records Verifier app is launched. The app does not store any personal information.”

Alberta implemented a version of the vaccine passport, called the Restriction Exemption Program on September 20th.

Under the program, businesses or event organizers who choose to implement the program and check patrons for government-issued proof of vaccination or a recent negative privately purchased COVID-19 test can continue to operate without restrictions.

Until now, only a printable version without a QR code was available from the Alberta Vaccine Record website.

Those who do not own computers or other electronic devices like mobiles or tablets that can be used to show vaccine proof can visit Alberta Registry agents to get a printed version of the card.
