The Alberta government had put up the distinctive outfit for sale, and it’s now owned by Edmonton-based restaurant chain, PrimeTime Donair, which boasts 24 outlets across Alberta.
The special costume mimicked the appearance of the Donair with details like replica meat, onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and even a mock sauce.
Crafted from a mix of latex, vulcanized rubbers, and synthetics, the costume also includes a silver body suit to replicate the tinfoil wrapping of a donair. It stands 56 inches tall, 27 inches wide, and 16 inches deep, while the body suit is 75 inches in length, ensuring the wearer a comfortable fit.

The auction, which started on July 14th, saw several prominent Donair shops across the country, such as Calgary’s Blowers and Grafton, Edmonton’s Swiss Donair, and Halifax’s King of Donair, fiercely compete.
PrimeTime Donair & Poutine entered the fray when the bid, which began at $50, hit $6,500.
