This launch coaster, noted for being the longest, tallest, and fastest of its kind in Canada, is set to redefine amusement park excitement. AlpenFury, extending 1,000 meters and reaching speeds of 115 km/h, will eject riders from within Wonder Mountain to a height of 50 meters above the park.
The coaster will also include the most inversions for a launch coaster in North America, with a total of nine. These inversions promise an unrelenting and unforgettable ride experience. AlpenFury is part of a broader expansion, becoming the centrepiece of the new Alpenfest themed area.
Designed by Premier Rides, AlpenFury will be the 19th roller coaster at the park and the fourth to incorporate elements of Wonder Mountain. Unique aspects of the ride include a double-launch mechanism—one launch sends riders deep into the mountain while the second thrusts them out of its summit. Additionally, AlpenFury features exclusive elements like the Fire Serpent Roll, the Skyflyer Loop, and the Ice Winder Roll, each designed to deliver unique sensations and visual experiences.
The ride’s stats are impressive: two trains, each carrying 18 riders, will complete the course in approximately 80 seconds.
Per the news release, the engineering prowess behind AlpenFury ensures it will not only be a record-holder in Canada but also a trailblazer in North American theme park attractions.
To enhance the experience, Canada’s Wonderland is offering the 2025 Gold Pass, which includes unlimited access to AlpenFury. The pass also grants admission to seasonal events such as Halloween Haunt and WinterFest, both of which feature an array of themed entertainment and activities. The promotion for the Gold Pass is currently underway, with additional benefits for early purchasers.
