Amazon is giving Prime members in some Ontario big cities more control over when and how their online orders arrive, rolling out additional Same-Day Delivery windows to make last-minute shopping simpler.
The company has added two new delivery options in Hamilton, Ottawa, the Greater Toronto Area (Toronto, Durham, York, Peel, Halton Regions):
- an extended daytime window from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for orders placed by midnight, and
- an afternoon window from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for orders placed by 10:30 a.m.
These join the existing overnight slot of 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. for midnight orders, and an evening option from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for orders placed by 1:30 p.m.
Prime members can use these windows at no extra cost when their orders total more than $25. Amazon says “millions” of products qualify, spanning categories such as household essentials, toys, electronics, beauty items and pet supplies.
To make browsing easier, Amazon has also launched a dedicated Same-Day storefront at amazon.ca/sameday. The page gathers all eligible products in one place and includes a Free Shipping Threshold Progress Bar to show how close a customer is to meeting the minimum for free Same-Day Delivery.
The expanded schedule is meant to give Ontario shoppers more flexibility, especially for items they want quickly but don’t necessarily need first thing in the morning.
