Amazon has extended its expedited delivery services to Calgary, Edmonton, and nearby communities, offering Prime members access to faster Same-Day and new Overnight Delivery options.
This move follows earlier rollouts in the Greater Toronto Area, Southwestern Ontario, and Metro Vancouver. The company now offers delivery in as little as seven hours, with an additional option for overnight shipments arriving the next morning when ordered by 8:30 p.m.
While Same-Day Delivery was previously available in these Alberta cities, the service has been upgraded for faster fulfillment across millions of products in more than 35 categories. Prime members receive free delivery on orders over $25, while orders below that amount incur a $6.99 fee. Non-Prime users pay a flat $11.99 per order.
The Overnight Delivery service includes early-morning arrival windows between 4–8 a.m. and 7–11 a.m., offering more flexibility for time-sensitive purchases.
Eligible items are marked with “Prime Same-Day” or “Prime Overnight” labels, and customers can use the “Get it Today” filter to identify qualifying products.
Amazon attributes these improvements to its existing infrastructure in Alberta, which includes a network of 12 fulfillment facilities and supports over 7,000 employees in the region. The proximity of inventory to end customers enables shorter delivery routes and fewer handoffs, allowing for quicker shipping without altering internal workflows.
