The competition was organized into four thematic sections: “Wildlife in Action,” “Urban and Natural Landscapes,” “Weather, Seasons and Skies,” and “Outdoor Adventure.”
Each category showcased the diverse splendour of Canadian scenes, from the intimate wildlife moments to the grand urban vistas.
Judges included the magazine’s own editorial team and prominent photographers Scott Forsyth and Christian Fleury.
The top accolade, Canadian Photographer of the Year, was bestowed upon Brandon Broderick from Tumbler Ridge, B.C., who received a grand prize of $5,000. Per the news release, Broderick’s portfolio boasts an array of Canadian wildlife, with a particular affinity for the Canada lynx.
