Prepare to be captivated this July as the Badlands Passion Play returns for its 29th season in the breathtaking Canadian Badlands. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Badlands Amphitheatre, this outdoor spectacle brings to life the timeless story of Christ’s journey like never before.
Since its inception, the outdoor production has welcomed over 300,000 attendees to witness the reenactment of the life of Christ on Canada’s largest outdoor stage.
Spanning more than 6 acres, the amphitheatre provides a spectacular backdrop for the 2.5-hour performance, which includes a 20-minute intermission. Doors open one hour before each show, allowing guests to explore the amenities of the Badlands Arts Centre before the play begins.
Preview Night kicks off on Friday, July 5th, followed by weekend performances scheduled for July 6-7, July 12-14, and July 19-21. While seats are assigned, organizers recommend early arrival for optimal seating and to partake in pre-show activities.
As an outdoor venue, attendees are advised to come prepared with essentials such as hats, water, seat cushions for wooden benches, sunscreen, and cash for in-theatre snacks. Given the outdoor setting, jackets, rain ponchos, or raincoats are also recommended. Certain items are available at the gift shop and concession stands, while picnic coolers and umbrellas are restricted within the amphitheatre.
