On Sunday, September 22, Toronto will witness a stunning display of unity and creativity with the debut of “Dominoes” in North America.
This captivating event hosted by The Bentway aims to foster a sense of camaraderie and celebration among the residents of Toronto.
Orchestrated by the artists from Station House Opera, “Dominoes” is set to send a chain of 8,000 oversized domino blocks toppling through the heart of the city.
Stretching for an impressive 2.5 kilometres, this dynamic installation will connect diverse neighbourhoods from King West to Canoe Landing and the Waterfront, weaving beneath the Gardiner Expressway in a spectacular route designed to transform urban spaces and engage the community.
For this unique public artwork, The Bentway is calling on 250 volunteers aged 16 and older to contribute to building the domino route. While the event is designed for those 16 and up, younger enthusiasts can join in the fun if accompanied by an adult.
