Doors Open: Explore Belleville For Free on Sept 12

Belleville, located on the north shore of the Bay of Quinte, is hosting its annual “Doors Open” event this Saturday, providing free access to a diverse array of sites across the city.

Sponsored by Heritage Belleville, this initiative has been a staple since 2002 and is held in collaboration with the Heritage Trust and Doors Open Ontario.

Twenty-two sites across the city, as well as in nearby Prince Edward County, are inviting the public inside for a free day of exploration on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can tour Albert College, founded in 1857, explore the historic Belleville City Hall and step inside Glanmore National Historic Site, an 1883 mansion filled with period rooms and art. Other stops include the Bay of Quinte Yacht Club, Belleville Fire Station #1, the Community Archives, Corby Park Rose Garden, Gallery 121 and Ameliasburgh Heritage Village, where log cabins, barns, a blacksmith shop and agricultural buildings bring local history to life for visitors of all ages today.

Ameliasburgh Heritage Village
