Buy a Sub, Feed a Community: MR.SUB Teams Up with Second Harvest for Canada Day Week Fundraiser

This year, Canada Day celebrations come with a chance to give back. MR.SUB is teaming up with Second Harvest for a limited-time campaign that will see part of its sub sales support food rescue efforts across the country.

Between June 27 and July 6, purchases of the Canadian Club Sub at MR.SUB locations will help fund Second Harvest, a national organization that redirects surplus food to communities in need.

During the 10-day window, part of the proceeds from every Canadian Club Sub sold will be directed to Second Harvest, which works with food industry partners to redirect surplus food to non-profits across Canada.

The initiative comes at a time when food insecurity continues to affect many households. Second Harvest’s CEO, Lori Nikkel, said the donation will help provide thousands of meals for people facing hardship. She noted in a news release that partnerships like this are essential to connecting unused food with those who need it most.

MR.SUB, which first opened its doors in Toronto in 1968, now has over 200 locations across the country. Known for its dedication to Canadian-sourced ingredients, the chain is using this opportunity to reinforce its commitment to both local communities and sustainability.

The Canadian Club Sub features turkey, ham, bacon and the brand’s signature ’68 Sauce. It’s available in-store, online, and through MR.SUB’s app — with each order supporting a broader mission to reduce waste and feed more Canadians.
