Calgary Folk Festival has announced the return of a modified summer festival to Prince’s Island Park.

Planned as an outdoor concert series in Prince’s Island Park, the 42nd annual edition will run from a single stage from July 22nd to 28th.

 

Summer Serenades, presented by ATB will go ahead with a number of safety precautions including home base tarps as seating and with a 2-metre distance between each tarp.

Live concerts will feature a diverse collection of Canadian artists including Lido Pimienta, Dan Mangan, Jim Cuddy, Cowboy Junkies, Charlotte Cardin, Whitehorse, and many more.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday.

What: Chill under the big Alberta sky at the picturesque Prince’s Island Park and revel in live concerts with a diverse collection of enticing Canadian artists. Featuring performances by Lido Pimienta, Dan Mangan, Jim Cuddy, Cowboy Junkies, Charlotte Cardin, Whitehorse, and many more! Prep your blankets and tarps and get ready to groove at Summer Serenades!

Summer Serenades is a modified event with a significantly reduced audience size, masking, and social distancing protocols in effect. Concerts are on the mainstage only and the usual festival amenities: family area, artisan zone and multiple stages will not be activated. Summer Serenades runs for 7 days, with 9 concert blocks.

Where: Prince’s Island Park, Calgary

When: July 22nd to 28th, 2021

Summer Serenades runs nightly from July 22 – July 28, with two afternoon showcases on Saturday (July 24th) and Sunday (July 25th)

How Much: $100 – $550, Tickets on sale June 18th.

Summer Serenades tickets will be sold “by the tarp”, with up to 4 adults and 2 children (12 and under) per tarp.

Each ticket bundle grants access for you and your party to an evening (or afternoon) of your choice.
