The spooky Halloween event held at Casa Loma grounds is cancelled as COVID-19 cases are soaring across Toronto.

Legends of Horror is a 2 km self-guided walking tour with immersive theatrical interpretation of all of the classic horror figures commencing in the lower gardens of Casa Loma and winding its way through the castles tunnels.

In a message on its website organizers said, ” After months of intense due diligence and planning for Legends of Horror at Casa Loma, and in consultation with public health officials, the Mayors’ office, and City of Toronto staff, we’ve come to the difficult but necessary conclusion that we must cancel the event this year.”

“Legends of Horror employs hundreds of people in the hospitality and arts community, at a time when these industries have been greatly impacted and would have brought joy and entertainment to Torontonians at a time when it is needed, but the health and safety of our guests, employees and the surrounding community is our number-one priority.”

The event was set to open on October 2nd running until Halloween Day.

Legends of Horror joins a list of events recently cancelled including the Santa Parade, Cavalcade of Lights and New Year’s Eve celebration at Nathan Phillips Square.
