The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will reopen all NEXUS enrollment centers in Canadian airports by April 24th.

NEXUS is a joint program managed by CBSA and CBP that facilitates expedited processing for pre-approved, low-risk travellers entering Canada or the United States.
According to the news release, applicants can book interviews effective immediately at various Canadian airports for dates starting from March 27th.
The schedule for interview start dates at various airports is as follows:
- March 27
- Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ)
- Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG)
- April 3
- Vancouver International Airport (YVR)
- April 12
- Calgary International Airport (YYC)
- Edmonton International Airport (YEG)
- April 17
- Montreal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL)
- April 24
- Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)
- Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW)
CBSA is providing a new option for the NEXUS interview. Canadian border agents will interview NEXUS applicants separately from their U.S. counterparts at eight Canadian airports.
The new enrollment option for air travellers has two steps, with Canadian airport enrollment centers being staffed by CBSA officers who will complete the Canadian portion of the NEXUS interview. Applicants must book an appointment online through the Trusted Traveller Programs scheduler for this step.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection will conduct the U.S. interviews at Canadian airport preclearance locations when applicants depart Canada to fly to the United States. The CBP interview can only take place after the CBSA portion of the interview is completed and the information is shared with CBP. Applicants do not need to schedule appointments for the U.S. interview but should allow time for it to take place before their departure.
Canada Border Services Agency says applicants now have three options for their NEXUS interviews:
- a joint U.S.-Canada interview at a land enrollment center (14 locations) in the U.S.,
- a split interview at a Canadian land enrollment center (2 locations) followed by an interview at a U.S. land enrollment center,
- a two-step interview at a Canadian airport enrollment center (8 locations) followed by an interview at a U.S. preclearance location in a Canadian airport.
According to the news release, existing members who renew their membership before the expiry date will have their benefits extended for up to five years to allow for the scheduling and completion of interviews as required.
