CNW Group/ChargeStop Technologies Inc.
Opening at 8106 99 St. NW on September 12, the first station of its kind in the country is dedicated solely to EVs.
Located just south of Whyte Avenue, this initial station is part of a broader plan to establish more such facilities across Canada in 2025, with ChargeStop operating on a franchise model.
Per the news release, ChargeStop features app-based booking, super-fast charging that can power most EVs to 85% in about 20 minutes, and amenities like snacks, WiFi, and secure, well-lit environments.
The introduction of this station comes at a time when EV sales in Canada are on a steep rise, with registrations jumping from 94,500 in 2019 to over 320,000 in 2023, according to Statistics Canada.
