Cirque Du Soleil describes KOOZA as a show that combines two circus traditions — acrobatic performance and the art of clowning.
The show, with an international cast of 50 acrobats, musicians, singers and actors, highlights the physical demands of human performance in all its splendour and fragility.
The company says the name KOOZA is inspired by the Sanskrit word “koza,” which means “box,” “chest” or “treasure,” and was chosen because one of the underlying concepts of the production is the idea of a “circus in a box.”

“KOOZA is about human connection and the world of duality, good and bad,” said the show’s writer and director David Shiner in a press release. “The tone is fun and funny, light and open. As it evolves, we are exploring concepts such as fear, identity, recognition and power.”
The show runs from April 7 to June 18, 20233. Unlike previous years, Cirque Du Soleil will set up their Big Top at Mr. Christie lands in Etobicoke instead of Ontario Place.
Tickets start at $77 + applicable taxes and fees.
Last summer, KOOZA show at the Old Port of Montreal set an attendance record with close to 270,000 tickets sold.
Since its debut in 1984, Cirque du Soleil has delighted more than 200 million spectators all over the world bringing awe-inspiring shows to over 60 countries.
