Cirque du Soleil Returns to Vancouver in Spring 2022 With Alegría

Cirque du Soleil is returning to Vancouver with one of its most iconic shows – Alegría.

Cirque du Soleil first presented Alegría in April 1994, a production destined to change the history of the company, an emblematic show that was to win over more than 14 million spectators. Its title song, which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1995, continues to be a fan favourite and remains Cirque du Soleil’s most-watched song on YouTube.

Alegría is the nostalgic story of a monarchy that has lost its king. The Old Birds, who resist change and cling to old values, hover around Mr Fleur, a tricky and power-hungry man who proclaims himself king. Fleur and the Old Birds, with their outdated ideas, struggle to maintain power in a world they no longer understand. On the other hand, the Bronx, the strong and confident next generation, embraces modernity and strives to topple their oppressors to build a flourishing new society.

2022 Vancouver show will begin on March 25, 2022, and will run until May 1, 2022 at Concord Pacific Place.
