Events Description

Set in the spectacular surroundings of Lake Louise, the Ice Magic Festival is a world class event with over 20 years of history. Watch as talented ice artists from around the world skillfully combine gruelling physicality with precision artistry in an ice carving competition.

During the competition, wander amongst the emerging sculptures watching the magic in action, ask questions of the carvers, and vote for your favourite. Following competition weekend, marvel at the finished ice masterpieces, try some carving yourself and watch a new element take form in a sculpture…snow!

  • Watch world class ice carvers work their artistic magic on ice blocks from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 January, with the live carving competition ending at approximately 2:00pm on Sunday 28 January, to be followed with an intimate awards ceremony from 6:00pm that evening.
  • Sculpture viewings and live Ice Carving Demonstrations from 6:00pm-9:00pm on Friday 2 – Sunday 4 February, 2024.
  • View the completed ice sculptures from the completion of the carving competition to the end of the event.
  • Onsite ice bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks within the Ice Magic gardens.

Sculptures are lit up at night creating a magical evening on the shores of Lake Louise.
