Join us in PlayLab at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, for a family-friendly day of music in celebration of Alberta Culture Days!
Step into the National Music Centre’s newest exhibit, PlayLab, for a full weekend of live music, rhythm games, sound effects, and singalongs for all ages!
About PlayLab
PlayLab is a hands-on sound playground where young visitors can discover how music works. With interactive stations that feature strings, wind, percussion, and electronic instruments, kids experiment with the building blocks of sound—pitch, volume, timbre, and vibration. Pluck a string, strike a drum, blow into an organ, or shape sound on a synth to hear how instruments create their unique voices. Designed for curiosity and creativity, PlayLab encourages visitors to listen closely, explore freely, and learn how musicians turn sound into music.
About Alberta Culture Days
Alberta Culture Days is the province’s month-long celebration of arts, heritage, diversity and community spirit, hosted by community organizations. It is an opportunity for all Albertans to discover, experience and celebrate arts and culture by attending or hosting local events and activities across the province. Last year, around 247,000 Albertans attended events in communities across the province. More than 70 communities hosted events to increase Albertans’ awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement in the arts and cultural life of their communities.
