Banff is turning its Downtown Pedestrian Zone into an entertainment and activity space for Canada Day.

There will be a full-day of entertainment dispersed through the pedestrian zone and around downtown.

Canada Day Programming & Activities

Canada Day Market, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Located on pedestrian-friendly Bear Street, between Wolf St and Caribou St. Note that the Bear St parking lot will be closed to vehicles.
  • Artisans, produce and tasty treats, as well as a great selection of food trucks!
  • Tables, chairs and cooling station features.

Family Fun Zone, 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

  • Features the family entertainment stage, roving performers, lawn games and activities for kids, First Nations tipis and cultural conversations. Beau Valley Circus will host circus workshops for all ages.

Central Park – all day

  • An enjoyable relaxation area by the river, beneficial for people who prefer less sensory stimulation.

Canada Day Parade, on Banff Ave, from Fox St to Buffalo St. to Bear St., 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

  • The best viewing spots for the Parade are between Fox St. and Moose St. and will feature pre-parade entertainment, starting around 3:45 p.m.

Chill Zone: 12 – 4 p.m., Bear Street, 200 Block

Sit and relax at the bear street Chill Zone to enjoy beautiful mountains views and enjoy food from local vendor, Lovely Ice Cream.

The Parade start time will be at 4:30 p.m. sharp, with staging opening at 2 p.m. on Cougar St, near Fox St.* The Parade route will run on iconic Banff Ave, from Fox St. to Buffalo St. to Bear St.
