Visitors are invited for the Second annual BUMP Festival for mural tours and artist events as a flurry of new murals are being painted. Artists will be installing their works throughout the week, self-guided tours will be available, and various events will take place in conjunction with the art installation.
The festival wraps up with an alley party beeside the special BUMP warehouse site, where we’re hosting an alley party with live music, food trucks, local beer from Last Best Brewing, and hands on mural painting for all-ages with Contemporary Calgary.
The Beltline Urban Mural Project (BUMP) is a program that funds and installs art on buildings in the Beltline. Artists are selected through a proposal process, and any building owner can apply to be part of the project. BUMP launched in 2017, with four murals installed by four local artists.
Murals are installed on several buildings in the Beltline each year, and are clustered as much as possible to facilitate walking between them.
