Events Description

Heritage Park’s free Culturally Speaking Presentation Series continues with a special screening and discussion featuring the creators and storytellers behind New Blood.

We’re showing CBC’s Absolutely Canadian documentary on New Blood, followed by a conversation with Stage Director Deanne Bertsch, Public Speaker Trinity Pretty Youngman, Elder Eulalia Running Rabbit and filmmakers Adam Solway and Austin Ladoceur.

New Blood shares the powerful story of Chief Vincent Yellow Old Woman — his experience in residential school, his journey of healing and his path to becoming Chief of his people. The production blends original poetry, music by Peter Gabriel and Indigenous singers, plus contemporary and traditional dance.
