Events Description

The High Performance Rodeo, Calgary’s International Festival of the Arts, is an annual festival that animates the city in January with an array of live performances from around the world. Featuring theatre, music, dance, and multidisciplinary art, ‘The Rodeo’ is a showcase of the best in contemporary performance.

Produced by One Yellow Rabbit Performance Theatre and presented in co-operation with many of Calgary’s major arts organizations such as Theatre Junction, Vertigo Theatre, Theatre Calgary, Alberta Theatre Projects and Lunchbox Theatre, the High Performance Rodeo has established itself as one of the major cultural events in Calgary.

With 8970 minutes of pure entertainment from 116 experiences and performances of 28 shows, there are hundreds of reasons to visit the High Performance Rodeo.

This year, in our line-up of 28 shows, we’ll continue to offer free and accessible events: ProArts at Noon concerts, a live podcast taping of CBC’s The Secret Life of Canada, and a new series of artist-led workshops: IN FOCUS. The Beautiful Young Students program activates the next generation of theatre artists, including a show from the radical youth at Western Canada High School, and our Good Hosts accessible performances welcome audiences into our spaces.
