I’ll Meet You There

Presented by Adult Recreational Choirs of Calgary in collaboration with Calgary’s 6th Poet Laureate (2022-2024) Wakefield Brewster, the combined forces of Up2Something and She’s Up2Something will entertain and move you with spoken word, incredible singing, and visuals!

Not so long ago, many of us experienced a dramatic shift in human interaction -going from togetherness and community to isolation. Today, having left lockdowns and restrictions behind, we feel a renewed sense of optimism and freedom, and the joy of singing together. “I’ll Meet You There” celebrates what moves us forward, away from the darkness and into the light. Together we long for a new day free from hatred, war, division, and suffering.

I’ll Meet You There, the song for which the concert is named, is an anthem of hope composed by David Pierce and commissioned by ARC on the occasion of its 20th anniversary. The last lines of the song communicate our message to you: Sharing from our hearts Coming together not apart; Our spirits are strong I’ll meet you there.
