Events Description
Alberta’s story is an immigrant story. From the food we eat, to the culture we celebrate, to the innovations that drive our economy, immigrants have always played a leading role. So why do we find ourselves faced with a referendum that makes an assessment on the value of their contributions?
At this installment of Hot Dogs & Hot Takes on History, Centre for Newcomers CEO Dr. Nketti Johnston-Taylor explores the historical impacts of newcomers on our community; not just economically, but also culturally and socially.
Come for the hot dogs, stay for the conversation about how immigration doesn’t take away, but in fact makes us stronger.
