Events Description

Music Kids in the Park is Back!

Looking for family fun in the sun? Check out our unique Music Kids outdoor program! Join our circle in the park as we play instruments, learn rhythms and melodies and make music under the sun!

Our innovative Music Kids team has been working to adapt our Music Kids in the Park program to meet and exceed the health and safety guidelines provided by the Alberta Government. For our long time MKIP families, you will see some changes to the program but what hasn’t changed is our commitment to deliver a fun and engaging experience for all!

New this year:
Smaller class numbers. Class sizes will be smaller this year. Only one adult will be allowed to attend with each child. With our smaller classes, we are prepared to increase the number of class offerings to accommodate as many families as possible.

Social distancing. All participants will be seated 2 metres apart. Spots will be measured and marked before each class.

No instrument sharing. We are encouraging participants to bring their own set of instruments. Suggestions of small-sized common household items that can be used as instruments will be sent out to registrants prior to the first class date. Participants also have the option to purchase a Music Kids in the Park Instrument Kit which is available at a discounted rate for registrants leading up to the start of the program.

Drop ins are unavailable. In order to ensure that our class sizes remain at 15 individuals or less, we will no longer be able to accept drop in students.

Outdoors only! MKIP will only take place outdoors. Should our class be cancelled due to inclement weather, a virtual make-up class will be available. If weather is suspect, please visit our Facebook Page on the morning of your class to check if your class is running outdoors.

If you are sick, stay home. Families must not attend the program if they are sick, even if symptoms resemble a mild cold. Symptoms include: fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, nasal congestion, headache and a general feeling of being unwell.

We will continue to follow all government directives to ensure a safely managed environment. We look forward to making music with you in the beautiful outdoors this summer!
