Lace up your skates and get outside for winter fun! The city of Calgary has seven outdoor skating rink locations that are free to use on a first-come-first-served basis.

Skate on the ice trails at Bowness Park or North Glenmore Park. Try the new ice bikes at Bowness Park.

Who is it for?

All ages – Family

Hockey sticks, toboggans, sleds & strollers are not permitted on the ice
Helmets are strongly encouraged.

FREE TO SKATE

Skate Rentals at Bowness Park

Skates: 1 hour– $12; 2-3 hours — $20
Ice Bike: 30 min — $12; 1 hour — $20
Skate Aid: 1 hour — $8

Helmets: Free

Skate Sharpening: $10/ pair

  • Carburn Park — 67 Riverview Dr. S.E. — 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily
  • Lot 6 Pop-Up Rink, 311 8 Street S.W.– 8 a.m. – 9 p.m., daily
  • North Glenmore Park — 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily
  • Prairie Winds Park, 223 Castleridge Blvd. N.E. — 5 a.m. – 11 p.m. daily
  • Prestwick Rink (in the community of McKenzie Towne) — 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily
  • Prince’s Island Park Lagoon, 4 St. and 1 Ave. S.W. — 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.daily
  • Thomson Family Park, 236 16 Ave. S.W. — 5 a.m – 11 p.m. daily
  • West Confederation Park, 2019 Chicoutimi Dr. N.W. — 9 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily
