Arts District Day

Celebrate the first-ever Arts District Day in the heart of downtown! This all-access creative playground transforms the Art Gallery of Alberta, Citadel Theatre, and Winspear Centre into a hub of pop-up performances and interactive art. Wander between venues to discover spontaneous artistic activations, hands-on workshops, and live music designed for all ages. Experience the energy of our downtown culture with open doors and unexpected moments around every corner.

Grab your Art Hop Passport at any one of the three venues to start your day and make your way around the Arts District to collect stickers at each station! When you’ve filled your passport, enter online for the draw to win one of several incredible prizes!

• 11:15 AM – 1:00 PM: Kalaakar Music Society & Filipino Choir (Main Hall)
• 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Mikayla Bortscher & Keavy Martin (Live Music, Various Floors)

Exhibition Tours

• 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM & 3:00 PM: 5 Artists 1 Love (15-min sets)
• 12:30 PM & 1:00 PM: Wayfinders (15-min sets)
• 1:30 PM & 2:00 PM: John Will (15-min sets) Note: Tours are limited to 20 people; no pre-registration required.

Hands-On Art Activities

• Poster Making: Inspired by John Will, create your own image-and-text message to parade through the District.
  Mixed-Media Sculpture: Bend and shape wire into expressive forms inspired by Elisabeth Belliveau.

Spotlight Concerts

• 3:00 PM: Littlebirds Jazz (Ledcor Theatre) – The next generation of jazz legends.
  4:30 PM: Jed and the Valentine (Ledcor Theatre) – Soul-stirring indie-folk harmonies. Note: Theatre performances require ticket purchase.

Winspear Centre:
Instrument trials with Long & McQuade, colouring, and the following free live performances:

• 11:30 AM – WindRose Trio (Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon)
• 12:15 PM – Forestier Duo (Violin & Classical Guitar)
• 1:00 PM – WindRose Trio (Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon)
