The Big Thinking Summit brings world-class ideas to life in Edmonton through a week of public lectures, conversations, and cultural events open to all.

Join leading thinkers and researchers in the humanities and social sciences as they explore the ideas shaping our society today from emerging research and public policy to the ethical questions behind innovation and change.

Across the week, experience public keynote lectures, interactive panels, and community conversations designed to invite the public into conversation with leading ideas and research. The program also features special evening events, including a gala celebration, and the announcement of a major national book award recognizing outstanding books that spark new ways of thinking.

It’s a chance to hear new ideas, connect with other curious minds, and take part in one of Canada’s most significant gatherings of public scholarship.
