Events Description
Join A Joyful Noise — monday and thursday choirs as they come together for the Canadian première of Bob Chilcott’s Christmas Oratorio, along with some festive favourites.
Chilcott’s Christmas Oratorio offers the perfect blend of tradition and freshness — a retelling of the Christmas story in a new musical language that is at once lyrical, vibrant, and deeply expressive.
For this hour-long work, A Joyful Noise is thrilled to collaborate with Coyote Brass and their director Kevin Yue, along with organist Wendy Nieuwenhuis and flautist Jessica Fereira. The performance is conducted by AJN Artistic Director Roderick Bryce, featuring soloists Ian Bannerman, tenor (also conductor of monday choir) and Lesley Dolman, mezzo-soprano.
The program will also include a selection of beloved seasonal pieces — a joyful way to welcome the warmth and wonder of the Christmas season.
