Events Description

Join the Royal Alberta Museum this Black History Month as they welcome back acclaimed artist, musician, and historian, Donna Coombs-Montrose. With over 20 years dedicated to detailing the stories of the African diaspora, her special program features infusions of song, dance, and live music. This dynamic presentation tells the story of the often under-recognized recruitment of skilled workers from the Caribbean, who played a large role in the dramatic transformation of rural northern Fort McMurray, and Alberta’s oil sands industry from the 1960s – 90s.
