December 5, 2019

December 23, 2019

Legislative Assembly of Alberta, 10800 97 Avenue NW, Edmonton

Events Description

For more than 30 years the Legislative Assembly has celebrated the holiday season by inviting musical ensembles from all over the province to perform festive music in the beautiful Legislature rotunda. Join us at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, December 5 to experience Light-Up first hand with thousands of Albertans. Following Light-Up, the Premier will invite everyone inside to enjoy hot chocolate, cookies and music.

Celebrate the Season will run from December 5 to 23 with daily performances at 6:30 p.m. and noon hour performances on weekdays and will feature 50 musical ensembles from across Alberta. Events are free for all to attend.

Visitors are encouraged to come for more than just the music and lights during Celebrate the Season.
The Legislative Assembly of Alberta is open to discover with free building tours running every hour – weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from noon to 5 p.m.

The Legislative Assembly Visitor Centre offers the Agora Interpretive Centre, a great place to brush up on Alberta’s democratic history, complemented by the 4-D theatre experience in the Pehonan Theatre. Finally, Alberta Branded offers unique art and fine craft items for sale, made by Alberta artisans.

During the winter season skating on the south grounds is open to the public, weather permitting.
