Events Description
Vibrant … dramatic … colourful … and friendly. When describing the Edmonton Folk Music Festival, musicians and patrons are unanimous. This year’s edition promises to be all that and more for the Edmontonians, visitors and volunteers who will claim their patch of grass on the hill at Gallagher Park to listen and move to the beat of more than 60 music-makers from the four corners of the globe.
Set in the lush river valley with the city skyline as its backdrop, the festival is an annual gathering that has come to epitomize Edmonton as a “festival city.” This is a family event, whether you come to listen to music, reconnect with old friends, or join the army of 2,200 volunteers who keep the festival running as the world-class event it has become since it was started in 1980.
